1962 Harper Adams graduate returns for Careers Fair to recruit students

While the Harper Adams Careers and Placement Fair often sees recent graduates returning to university, Agriculture graduate and owner of Berrystock Feeds, John Bell, returned 57 years later…

“I have many good memories of Harper Adams” said John, “It’s all changed now. When I graduated the Queen Mother Hall wasn’t here. They’d just started digging the foundations!”

“Harper has this ‘it’ factor which anybody that comes here has got. We’ve had a few placement students and they all work superbly.” He continued, “What enthuses me is the energy and enthusiasm that all Harper students have. Hopefully we can find some new talent, we’re always looking for new talent from Harper Adams.”

Harper student Emily Mosely, currently studying Agri-business Management having completed a successful placement year with John at Berrystock Feeds, arranged for John’s company to exhibit at the Careers and Placement Fair.

“Harper Adams has always been known as the best agricultural university so coming here just made sense.

“I came out of my placement with 100% employability thanks to high grades in both assignments but I still work with John even though I’ve left.” said Emily, “I’ve always wanted to set up my own business, that’s why I’m studying Agri-business Management, but John gave me a push to get my business plan finished.

More than 130 businesses attended the Careers and Placement Fair at Harper Adams giving students from all years the opportunity to meet potential employers, explore future careers and discuss placement and graduate openings.
